Skillet at 163, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

During our stay in KL, we were staying at the Fraser Place Hotel, located a few minutes walk away from the Petronas Towers. Before I start speaking about the restaurant – the hotel is definitely one I recommend as a place to stay while you’re in KL! The location is perfect, they have an amazing infinity pool with a stunning view of the city, and for a 5 star hotel you can book a room for a very reasonable rate if you reserve well in advance.

As we were looking for some where to eat on our first nights stay, we resorted to our good old friend – Mr Google. This led us to Trip Advisor – and being our first night, we thought we should treat ourselves – so we filtered for Fine Dining, and went for the number 1 option, which just so happened to be on the ground floor of the hotel we were staying at!

Skillet at 163, which has since moved down to #11 on TripAdvisor’s list of restaurants in the City, delivers a delicious meal at a very reasonable price. What we quickly learnt while staying in KL, was that you can eat very cheaply around the City – street stalls will allow you to eat a full plate of food for under a pound, and even the more fancy restaurants won’t leave you bankrupt.

I went for the Chicken thigh with Mushroom filling as my main dish, which I thought was delicious. (I’m writing this post years later, so I can’t describe it in much detail – but I recall leaving very impressed!)
