Fred’s Place, Cancun, Mexico

Going on holiday to 3 places which pretty much have NO idea what ‘Halal’ is (Cancun, Havana and Miami), was a very challenging experience for someone who had just completed a month of Ramadan – so this is my attempt at doing my bit to help those visiting Cancun, Mexico to locate good food places where you can eat!

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel concierge as one of the best places in the Hotel zone to try out some of Mexico’s seafood!

We tried a selection of fish, including: Salmon, Lobster, Prawns. Squid and Scallops.

Mexicans REALLY like their food spicy. Everything from the prawns starter had my mouth on fire, but their attention to detail on both service and presentation of food made for a great first dinner in Cancun! I really enjoyed the Scallops, and the Salmon was juicy as hell and dripping with flavour.

ALSO… we got to pick out the fish that we wanted which I found very cool!

The staff bring out a selection of fresh catches for you to pick from!

Price wise: everything you see in the pictures came to $175USD (approx £130). Definitely one of the more pricey hotels in the Hotel zone – but the amazing service, and sea views from the table make it worth every penny!
