Shalimar Pakistani Cuisine, Reykjavik, Iceland

Being a Desi, there’s only so long I can go without home-cooked Indian food. Even whilst on holiday, I have to at least have one Indian meal!

So you can imagine how happy I was when I stumbled across this Pakistani restaurant in the middle of Reykjavik, and then my further excitement when the waiter greeted me with Salaam and told me that the food was Halal!

Once you enter the restaurant, you completely forget you’re in Iceland! It has a similar feel to it as one of those independent Bangladeshi owned restaurants that every town in England has a few of.

I went for the Chicken Tandoori – and I can confirm… that it tasted just like the kinda food I’d expect to find if I was in Tooting/Southall, if not – even better!

So if you do decide to visit the city, and are in need of some home comforts – then be sure to drop them a visit!

But, as always, please do confirm with them the Halal status of their meat, as it may have since changed.
