Smash Burger, Mecca

My personal favourite place to eat while were in Mecca was Smashburger! Located in the clocktower building right opposite the masjid, alongside multiple other restaurants including KFC and Hardees.

I went for the classic burger, which is the standard – pickles, lettuce and cheese, etc. They make the meat fresh in front of you, so you know you aren’t eating reheated stock like elsewhere, which is very important while you’re visiting the Holy mosques, as the last thing you want is to be unwell and bed-bound!

The meal in the picture above costed me approximately 36 riyals – which using the FX rate at the time was approximately £8. Not McDonalds prices, but also not overly expensive considering some of the burgers you can find yourself purchasing in London, so (in my opinion) definitely worth paying a few extra quid for the guaranteed good quality!
