Two Buns, Harrow

Living in South London, I (admittedly) have quite a weak coverage of restaurants in the North of London, however this is something I’m working on – and hopefully in the next few weeks you’ll see a lot more North London posts!

I visited Two Buns in Harrow to check out if the restaurant lives up to the hype I’ve seen over Instagram. The restaurant is located a 2 minute walk away from Harrow-on-the-Hill station (which takes almost 2 hours to get to from my house), but after this visit that distance doesn’t seem so long all of a sudden.

Having now visited twice (which I like to do, because sometimes the first time you can have a bad experience, but that could have just been due to a bad day – or vice versa), I honestly would dub this restaurant as one of my top 3 burger joints in London!

The restaurant isn’t too big, it can probably seat about 30 people I’d estimate. The menu is pretty simple, which is really good for picky eaters like myself who can spend forever debating what to order.

My personal favourite is “The Club” burger (for £8) which contains 2 x 3oz beef patties, American Cheese, Onion, Tomato, Egg & Beef Bacon. Yes, you read correctly – EGG! Surprisingly not many people like eggs on their burgers, but i’m a huge fan!

I was pretty impressed with the beef patty also – often at restaurants I find it to be too salty, or not salty enough, however their salt to patty ratio was on point. It was super juicy too – so juicy that my hands were covered, but that’s not a complaint at all, that’s exactly how I like my burgers to be!

They also do a really good range of fries – the “Better Fries” (plain) are a perfect compliment to any burger, however for those feeling a little more adventurous i’d recommend the Veggie Fries (£3) or the Chilli Beef fries (£3.95).

What really stood out to me was the amazing service. The first time that I visited was during Ramadan, where the staff made space for me to pray in their staff room, and were generally very friendly and helpful. Second visit was a quiet weekday after work where the service was super quick!

My only recommendation would be that they really need to get a card machine installed, or if they’ve got one – then to get it working! Having to come prepared with cash, or go out once you’ve ordered to the cash point can be quite annoying.

The restaurant is HMC certified.
