BBQ Lamb Chops Recipe
Many of you have asked for my Dad’s BBQ Lamb Chops recipe which you will have seen me eating very frequently during the lockdown on my Instagram stories (if you follow me on @halalfooddiary)!
They’re super tasty, perfectly cooked and quite addictive if you ask me!
I always opt to stand in on the BBQ whenever they’re being made so I can grab them straight off the grill!
If you have any questions on the recipe, feel free to hit me up on Instagram DM – and i’ll pass on thqe question to my dad!
If you try them out and enjoy, please do send me a picture on Instagram so I can share!

Ingredients
- 1 Kg Lamb Chops (or Mutton Chops)
- 3 Tbsp Yoghurt
- 1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger
- 2 Tbsp Garlic
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- Half-Packet Shan Fried Chops/Steaks Masala
- Coriander chopped, 1 handful
- Mint chopped, 1 handful
- 3 Tbsp Unsalted Butter melted, optional
Instructions
- Wash and dry the chops with a paper towel and cut a few quarter inch deep slashes in each chop
- Prepare the marinade in a large bowl, adding all the ingredients and whisk with yogurt
- Add the chops to the marinade and coat nicely, then cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours (ideally overnight)
- Allow the meat to sit outside of the refrigerator at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before preparing to grill
- Ensure your grill grates are clean and apply oil if required so the chops won’t stick
- Cook the chops for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked to your liking. (Brush both sides of the chops with the melted butter – optional)
- Let the chops rest for a few minutes after removing from the grill, enjoy!
